Styling them well is about balancing the fitted bottom half with something that has a bit more structure up top. An oversized shirt or a boxy jumper does the job for daytime, while a longline blazer worn open turns the same pair into something that could pass for smart casual on a day that involves both a desk and a train home.
For colder months, a proper coat with a bit of weight to it stops the whole look reading like activewear that wandered indoors. Footwear does a lot of the talking, chunky trainers keep things relaxed, while ankle boots or a pointed flat push the same leggings toward something you could wear to dinner without a second thought.
They earn their place across more occasions than they get credit for, from early starts and school runs to travel days, studio sessions, and the kind of weekend where comfort and a finished look both need to be true at once. The mark of a good pair is that nobody clocks them as leggings at all, they just look like trousers that happen to move properly.
