A silver loafer earns its place by behaving like a proper loafer first and a metallic second. A silver loafer works for a lunch that tips into drinks, for travel days when heels aren’t sensible but trainers feel underdressed, for party season when everyone else is in heels and you want to look considered rather than tired by ten. They photograph well on their own too, catching light without ever needing a spotlight, which is a rare thing for a shoe to manage.
