A jersey or crepe version becomes daytime armour, thrown on with a chunky cardigan and boots, or under a blazer for the sort of meeting where you want to look considered without looking like you tried.
The genuinely underrated move is layering a plain white tee underneath for anything remotely daytime or outdoorsy, it stops the slip silhouette feeling too undressed and gives you something to roll the sleeves of. For weddings, for dinners, for the one wedding guest outfit that doesn’t scream, beige slip dresses do the work quietly. They don’t compete with a room. They just make you look like you’ve had considerably more sleep than you have.
